The City and the Suburban Improvement District will hold their third workshop to discuss transitioning services currently performed by HISID to the City this Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. in the Ballroom.
In my State of the City address in January, I outlined in general terms the services being provided by the Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District (HISID) including road maintenance, fire protection, water and sewer utilities, and recreation facilities, will gradually be transferred to the City’s responsibility.
The next step is to address the feasibility of making this transition and most importantly, where the revenue would/could come from to allow the City to operate everything the District currently does. This is what will be presented at the workshop on Saturday. You can find the agenda for this meeting at https://www.cityofholidayisland.com/meetings-minutes
This is a very important meeting for the residents and property owners of Holiday Island. It is our intent to execute a transition plan that is developed with public input and is supported by the community. We can only do that if we get community involvement. We need you at this workshop! Hope to see you there.
