Public Safety
The City of Holiday Island contracts with the Carroll County Sheriff's Department to provide police protection to Holiday Island. This contract provides for two full time deputies to patrol and serve our community, each putting in 40 hours/week. Their hours will vary each week, including daytime and nighttime hours, weekdays,
weekends, and holidays, in order to provide as much coverage as possible.

The City also contracts for Fire & Emergency Medical Services with the Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District (HISID). The Holiday Island Fire Department provides first response to all fire and medical calls, utilizing ambulance service provided by the Western Carroll County Ambulance District (WCCAD) out of Eureka Springs, and two air ambulance services, Air Evac Lifeteam and Mercy Lifeline, for transport to the most appropriate hospital. The HI Fire Department is staffed by both paid and volunteer staff and maintains equipment
at 5 stations located throughout the community.
