Council Member Pittman Resigns, Position to be Filled at January Meeting

I would like to let everyone know that for medical reasons Jerry Pittman has resigned as Council member for Ward 2 Position 1 effective January 1st. Jerry has been a council member since the city incorporated and has contributed greatly in our getting the city up and running. I want to thank Jerry for his service to the community and wish him a speedy recovery.

According to Arkansas statute §14-44-104, the city council, at its’ next regular meeting, currently scheduled for January 16, 2024, is to elect a replacement to fill this vacancy. Consequently, they will be wanting to hear from anyone currently living in Ward #2 who is interested in serving on the council. Any interested party can also contact me and I would make the recommendation to the council. All council positions, including Jerry’s position, will be up for re-election in the November, 2024 election.  You can click the link below to see the Ward Map that is posted on the City website, showing streets and boundaries for Ward #2 as well as the other two Wards:
